Singular Learning Theory and Alignment
Friday, April 5th, 11:30–12:00
A core observation of singular learning theory is that there is a connection between the local geometry of the loss landscape and the internal structure of models. This observation opens a path towards new tools for interpretability, mechanistic anomaly detection, and the study of inductive biases. In this talk, we will explore what these contributions may look like and the potential future role of singular learning theory within the alignment portfolio.
